Candidates with Ohio Chamber Ties Perform Well Too!

In addition to the candidates with General Assembly ties, there were also some candidates with Ohio Chamber ties.

First, a couple Ohio Chamber member-company employees won their elections yesterday:

  • Dan Bucci, public policy manager for our member company University Hospitals, was re-elected an at-large member of the Avon Lake City Council.
  • Re-elected a Sharon Township (Franklin County) trustee was John Oberle, an attorney with Ohio Chamber member IceMiller.

And it was also a good night for current & former Ohio Chamber employees:

  • Our VP of Communications, Julie Wagner Feasel, was the leading vote-getter and captured another term on the Olentangy (Delaware County) school board. Former Chamber political director Chip McConville was elected to his first full term as Mt. Vernon law director.
  • Kelly McGivern, who once lobbied for the Ohio Chamber on health care and environmental issues, was re-elected to Hilliard City Council. She, too, was the top vote-getter on the ballot.
  • Kettering Vice-Mayor Amy Schrimpf, a former communications assistant at the Chamber, was re-elected to another term on Kettering City Council as an at-large member.
  • Linda Siefkas, who served as executive director of the Chamber’s Ohio Small Business Council, was re-elected to serve on the Marble Cliff Village Council.

Also, our congratulations to Lori Kershner and John McClelland. Lori, who is married to Chris Kershner, the Dayton Area Chamber’s Vice President of Public Policy & Economic Development, won her election as Springboro Ward 1 councilwoman. John, director of communications and public affairs for the Ohio Senate Republican caucus, won election to the New Albany school board.
