Shale Boom Spawns New Plant and More Jobs

On April 11th, the Ohio Chamber joined community leaders in Hubbard, Ohio for the grand opening of Evets Fabrication Services, a VEC, Inc. company. Located just outside of Youngstown, on the northern edge of Ohio’s Utica shale play, Evets Fab specializes in the fabrication of pipes for the oil and gas industry. The new facility represents an investment of $3.2 million and will result in the creation of an additional 30 jobs.

Evets Fab joins other businesses across the state, many of them Ohio Chamber members, who are expanding in response to the amazing growth of the shale industry. In fact, as evidence that shale continues to strengthen Ohio’s energy portfolio, Evets Fab received a major shale-related fabrication contract before it even opened its doors.

We posted in February that the Utica shale play is transforming Ohio’s economy and a new Ohio-based study provides more details supporting that statement. It is exciting to see the major business investments and new jobs that are servicing this booming industry.
