Ohio EPA Director Craig Butler unveiled a new OEPA website this week aimed at facilitating the exchange of scrap and by-products that qualify for beneficial use. OEPA’s launch highlighted bulk wooden pallets, used bricks, spent foundry sand and hydro-treating catalyst as a small example of the materials expected to be available for trade.
The Ohio Chamber of Commerce has long highlighted the importance of material exchange as key to reducing waste destined for landfills and ensuring that the flexibility needed to buy or sell useful items exists. Businesses interested in participating can enroll in the Ohio Materials Marketplace for free.
