May 7-11 is In-Demand Jobs Week here in Ohio! This serves as a statewide celebration of jobs, industries, and skills that are in-demand in our state. As employers, workforce is a major concern and being able to fill open positions is an issue. This initiative is the perfect way to promote job openings and attract qualified individuals who have the ability to fill those vacancies.
There will be many opportunities to participate and to get involved, whether you are an employer, student, or job seeker. Community leaders statewide are encouraged to partner and plan engaging events and activities that will inspire excitement and awareness among students and job seekers.
The Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation has led the way with this initiative and promotion of In-Demand Jobs Week. OhioMeansJobs put together this useful resource that will assist individuals who are interested in attending any of the events that will be held statewide. It also includes helpful information for all involved, from students to educators to employers.
Currently, there are over 200 occupations here in our state that are considered in-demand. Over the course of the first full week in May, Ohioans seeking jobs in any of those occupations can learn more about the qualifications and potential certifications necessary.
