Ohio To Work Program Expands

This week, Governor Mike DeWine and JobsOhio announced that the Ohio To Work pilot program will expand to even more areas in our state.

The Ohio To Work program began as an effort to connect Cleveland-area residents to in-demand jobs in that region. It is now expanding to five other metropolitan areas in the state including Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, Toledo, and the Mahoning Valley.

This program helps employers access a skilled and highly-trained workforce while providing job seekers access to well-paying, long-lasting careers. Ohio To Work brings together existing organizations to reach unemployed and at-risk workers in Ohio by expanding coaching and support services, career services, tools, training programs and supplementing funding options to cover training costs – giving any Ohioan looking for a job the tools they need to find work.

We continue to hear from all our members that workforce is a huge issue and this creative and innovative approach to connecting job seekers with employers has the potential to help bridge some of those gaps. As this program continues, we are hopeful that it will be able to expand even further statewide to provide much-needed assistance to Ohio employers who are struggling to fill current vacancies.
